Using electric vehicles (EV) in your everyday life brings a whole new driving experience, and that is true even for business. At the forefront of latest battery powered vehicle technology, Toyota can help enhance your business driving experience, without changing the way you operate. New battery electric vehicles from Toyota offer excellent range, fast and efficient charging, on top of the financial incentives behind this exciting new sector of the automotive industry. Whether you are responsible for a fleet, or simply have the opportunity to choose a car for business, the battery electric Toyota range will surely be an excellent choice.
Toyota Electric Vehicles are designed to ensure seamlessly smooth business operations continue, even after the transition to EV. For example, the Toyota Proace Electric can achieve a range of up 205 miles^ on the 75kWh version of the vehicle.
You can rest assured knowing that you or your fleet are driving green on the road, as absolutely ZERO emissions are emitted from the tailpipe when driving. This means that no harmful gasses, such as CO2 or NOx gases are released into the air when you are driving your Toyota EV.
Whether you have a fleet, or a company vehicle, battery electric Toyota vehicles can save you or your business money whilst they are yours. Due to the way they are built, operate, and their low environmental impact, they benefit from lower taxes, fuel costs when compared against combustion engines, and in some cases can benefit from government grants and incentives.
Aside from the practical benefits of battery electric vehicles for business, EV also are a pleasure for the driver. The battery-operated powertrain offers a silent driving experience, with a smooth and relaxing feel on the road.
You can save money in so many different ways with a Toyota EV, all adding up to lower the cost of ownership when comparing against combustion engine vehicles.
All current Toyota Battery Electric Vehicles qualify and are eligible for the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) grant~
If you have a workplace and are able to install a charging point (up to 40 in total), your business can benefit from a contribution of up to £350 towards purchase and installation

Whilst charging can be more cost effective than filling up with conventional fuel, Electric Vehicles are also currently exempt from road tax, congestion charges and ULEZ.
It's a fact that electricity is cheaper than conventional fuels, meaning it’s considerably more cost effective to fill up your EV. What’s more, is that with no oil in your EV and less moving parts to go wrong, servicing can cost less too.
There’s three easy and efficient ways to charge your EV Toyota, each beneficial to your circumstances; whether you’re charging at home, on the move or travelling, or at your workplace.
Helping to keep you on the road in no time, the UK has a growing infrastructure of over 6,600 locations across the UK. These allow EV drivers to charge in the quickest time.
Examples of the charging times:
Urban Cruiser 50 kW time is 54 mins*
Toyota C-HR+ 50 kW time is 1 Hour*
Toyota bZ4X 50 kW time is 45 mins*
Proace Electric 50 kW time is 1 Hour 10 mins*
Proace City Electric 50kWh time is 45 mins*
These are commonly seen at homes in driveways, workplace car parks, and public car parks. These handy charge points offer a medium speed charge, much quicker than a regular three pin socket.
Examples of Charging times:
Proace Electric 7.4 kW time to full charge is 7 hours 55 mins*
Proace City Electric 4.6 kW time to full charge is 8 hours 30 mins*
If you need to, you can even charge your electric Toyota from a regular three pin socket. However, it’s always best to have your sockets checked by an electrician to ensure they’re safe.
Example of some charging times:
Proace Electric 75kWh time to full charge is 25 hours 40 mins*
Proace City Electric 2.3 kW time to full charge is 17 hours 5 mins*
Getting the most out of your EV Toyota is the same as getting the most out of your conventional combustion vehicle. There are a few things to consider when driving and maintaining your EV to get the full potential out of it.
Just like a regular combustion car, stopping and starting uses more power and therefore eats more fuel, or in an EV’s case more electricity. Therefore, motorway driving will enhance the range of your battery electric Toyota compared with urban driving.
Again, as with cars that are powered by conventional fuels, heavy acceleration with an electric vehicle will reduce its range. None the less, electric Toyota drivers have the option of ‘Eco’ mode, which enables the car to prioritise battery economy over performance, which in turns maximises range potential. Not only this though, battery electric Toyota cars have a ‘B-Switch’, which activates regenerative breaking, further improving range.
Utilising the electrical functions in your EV Toyota, such as the air conditioning, will use energy from the battery. It’s wise to cool or heat the cabin whilst the vehicle is plugged in and charging, which uses much less energy than when the car is not plugged in and in motion.
The weather and outside temperature can in fact also play a part in the range of your EV Toyota, and charging could be required more frequently when weather is colder.
Due to the makeup and very nature of how an electric vehicle operates, it can be more cost effective and much quicker to service and maintain than conventional combustion vehicles.

*Battery electric vehicle requiring mains electricity for charging. Indicative charge time, for comparison purposes. Actual charging times may vary depending on various factors, including the selected vehicle (and battery option, if available), the age, type, condition and temperature of the charging unit and the battery, the starting charge, the power supply to and usage of the charger and the environmental conditions at the point of use. These figures may not reflect your real life driving results.
Charge times will be longer in colder weather and if battery temperature activates safeguarding technology. 150kW+ chargers are available in mainland Great Britain primarily on major arterial routes – see Zap Map for details. They are not yet available in Northern Ireland and availability is limited in Scotland, Wales and in rural areas.
