As we’ve said in previous news articles, SLM Toyota are proud to support and nurture the next generation of motoring professionals, and we love to see new people join our wonderful profession. As such, we are strong advocates of the apprenticeship scheme, and proudly accept young people into these positions across our business.
Our Toyota Centre in Uckfield have recently welcomed a new apprentice, specifically into their service team, in Ryan Carn who begins his career as an apprentice technician.Ryan is brand new to the industry, and will learn from experienced colleagues in our service team, teaching him theory and practice alike to nurture him into an efficient and thorough technician. None the less, Ryan has a genuine interest in cars that, in his words, has always been present. Surrounded by friends in the industry too, he’s always ‘tinkered’ with cars since a young age, so will be very much at home in our workshop.
During his time in the apprenticeship role, Ryan will be taught new skills, best practice, and assessed throughout on his theoretical knowledge and his practical skills, ultimately concluding in a potential accreditation and qualification in vehicle repairs and servicing.
