If you’re a regular reader of our news, you’ll have noticed that we quite like to reward our people when they excel in their roles, and show commitment to our family business. We feel passionately about our business, our customers, and our staff, and we believe that this shows when we put equally as passionate and dedicated people into key roles in the business.
At SLM Toyota Norwich, we’re pleased to announce that James Milner, previously one of our Sales Consultants of a number of years, has accepted the position of Parts Manager.
James was a perfect fit for the role when we were considering our options, with a wealth of business experience spanning well over a decade. He’s also shown his passion for the industry, Toyota brand, and our family business since 2018 when he first joined us. This experience, track record of success, and clear commitment to both us and our customers, is what made it an easy choice for us to offer James the role.
We asked James to comment on how his background made him suitable for the role. He said: “I previously lived abroad for many years in South America and Spain where I ran a successful business for 12 years, before moving back to the UK with my family. This is where I started my journey with SLM Toyota in sales back in 2018. I have enjoyed working with the SLM family, selling new and used Approved Toyota cars for the past two and a half years, which I feel has helped me grow and transition to the Parts Manager role.”
James made the move to this new role in June 2021, and has now had a couple of months to settle in. He said: “It has been a big challenge and change since starting in June 2021, however with the help from the parts team and the support from Andy, Marcus and the other managers and staff at SLM Toyota Norwich, I feel comfortable and happy with the challenge ahead. My choice to change role was really influenced by the Toyota Kaizen MOTO 'continuous improvement'.”
We know you’ll do well in this new role James, and on behalf of all at SLM we wish you the very best of luck.
To close, Marcus Rutledge (SLM Toyota Norwich General Manager) comments on James’ time with the SLM family so far, and how easy a decision it was to appoint him as our new Parts Manager: “James brings a wealth of experience both with managing a team and knowledge of the brand, while focusing on the customer experience. This is following a successful period in the Norwich sales team, which has brought a new dimension to the parts department. James has injected a lot of enthusiasm and drive into his new role, and I look forward to seeing the results it will bring.”
