    I purchased a used car from you in January and when i got home, the Heated seat function decided not to work, so I contacted branch the same day as purchase and was told to visit local authorised repairer to investigate and fix as I live a distance from Tunbridge Wells. I organised a local "Authorised repairer" to view the car, but when I arrived I was informed that they couldnt do anything and sent me back to Tunbridge Wells to organise repair/investigation. I spoke to a member of staff over the phone who advised that I would have to wait 30 days for my warranty to kick in and could get the car looked at. I didnt accept that and rang the warranty team who said that the warranty is active and should have no problems, so rang Tunbridge Wells again and was advised the same thing to wait 30 days to log the issue. I became frustrated and contacted sister branch in Hastings, who asked me to attend within a week to conduct investigation. They found the fault and have ordered the part under warranty, but also found one of the tyres was well below legal limit so they would also replace this (annoyed with this as I asked Tunbridge Wells if tyres ok as saw issue on MOT and was told that all was complete and ready to go as had been serviced). About a week after this visit, I found the car was overheating and going through a bottle of coolant every day, so contacted Hastings again who asked for me to return to conduct another investigation and they found that the water pump had failed, so would need to repair under warranty again. All was fine for a week after that and the car is showing the same issue of overheating and consuming coolant at a rapid rate. For example a 5 minute drive to shops (3 miles) and the car overheated twice (130 degree and codes on dash) and consumed all of the coolant, then overheated twice more coming back after waiting hour or so for car to cool down. I have booked to return to Hastings for another investigation, but all I want to do is give car back and get refund as the car is not fit for purpose and is not reliable. Tried contacting Tunbridge Wells to do this and have had no return of calls, so have escalated to ombudsman. Dont expect this many issues with a car that I purchased less than 2 months ago.

    Purchased a Yaris December 2023. Reece delt with my sale and he was very friendly and not pushy at all, I went to a few Steven eagles and they came off very pushy. They let me take my time with the car on the test drive and get familiar with it, they also gave an excellent deal on my part exchange. Very friendly team at this dealership, when I’ll be getting my next car I’ll be coming to them - even though I live miles away!

    As of main dealer thay are properly one of the least helpfull. Stuck at the bottom of a hill next to mc donalds. If the manager or staff upset you at least you can go to get a mc flurry and chear yourself up. Buy a Ford or Honda.

    Was unsure if I needed a new battery, so had diagnostic check done and a new battery supplied and fitted based on the results. The fee for the diagnostic test was waived. Great advice and customer service (and free coffee while I waitedCannot recommend highly enough.

    Customer service has gone down hill in the last 12 months. Found it very difficult to get through to the service department on the phone. Usually ended up going through to sales and leaving messages for Service to call me back which they rarely did. When you're charging an extortionate hourly rate just for diagnostics and end up with a bill of over a grand, it's not good enough I was aware that my Qashqai would need work to pass the MOT but did not expect it would take nearly 3 weeks to get my car back and there are still issues with the car.

    UPDATE: I posted a review yesterday about your terrible customer service and your staff asking me to not come into the store anymore for simply asking you to fix the mistake you caused to my mirror. However, instead of you taking responsibility for the issue you caused to my car, you replied to me saying "We have reviewed your case carefully and unfortunately have no record of your visit to SLM Toyota UckfieldFirstly, no, it is VERY CLEAR that you have NOT reviewed my case carefully as you have falsely stated. Secondly, I have evidence of me visiting SLM Toyota Uckfield and the evidence is attached to this review.     Not going to waste anymore of my time on this garage than I already have done, so my blunt review will reflect their dismissive attitude. Have taken my car in three times here, with the same fault (under warranty, so no choice) and the response is one of I don't know and I don't care on each occasion.

    I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE AT ALL. IRRESPONSIBLE AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My indicator light protector was slightly broken, but the mirror movement was working perfectly. So I booked an appointment to fix it, and you fixed the protector, however, the mirror movement got restricted in the process of you replacing the protector. I mentioned that over the phone a few times and I came multiple times to you to fix the issue you caused but you have not fixed it and you always try to confuse me because I am a foreigner and my English is not very good. After having a previous appointment to fix my mirror as well as to check my brakes, I went today (28/02/2024) again for that specific reason and you still did not fix it. Considering that I urged you over the phone that my main issue and concern is my mirror. One of your staff members spoke to me in a very very rude manner and refused to take any responsibility for the issue you caused to my car and refused to fix it. Ultimately, he said to me "pay the £260 for fixing the brakes and never come back to our branch again", in which I responded "we live in a country where everyone is under the law" and I stated clearly to him that I am taking this issue to court, in which he responded in an aggressive and verbally violent way "do whatsoever you want". I paid my invoice and I left with utter shock and disappointment. I have never seen or heard or even imagined any good business who respect themselves would deny taking responsibility, deny fixing their mistakes, and most shocking: ask a customer to stop coming into their business. This is utterly rude and disappointing. Your business and customer service made me hate my Toyota car. This is completely unacceptable, especially considering the inconvenience and time wasted in bringing my car in for repair multiple times. Furthermore, the lack of communication and transparency throughout the entire process only exacerbated my dissatisfaction. I felt disregarded as a customer, with my concerns dismissed rather than addressed with the seriousness they deserved. It is disheartening to see such disregard for customer satisfaction and quality service. As a loyal customer, I expected better treatment and service standards from your establishment. Regrettably, based on this experience, I cannot in good faith recommend your dealership to others. I hope that you take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve your service standards and customer relations moving forward.

    I brought a vehicle under a year ago from here. I recently put it in for an Mot it failed on emissions and suspension issues. I call the garage as vehicle should have still been under warranty. First time I called to get this issue resolved I was instantly told the suspension was wear and tear which is not the case at all as iv hardly driven the vehicle so this is not the case what so ever and feel this was just a quick excuse not to use the warranty, I was also told someone would call me back within half an hour and nothing so the next day finally got through to servicing and again was rushed off the phone told I was going to get a call backnothing. It is now 4 days since I last called with no attempt by them to contact me. So Iv now had a vehicle I cant get an Mot on sat outside my house I can't drive. Also paid £500 to extend the warranty which in hindsight isn't worth the paper it's written on. I'm still waiting for any contact from anyone so I can actually get this vehicle back on the road. And im sure there will be further issues to come and they will try fob me off with wear and tear rubbish. It looks like I will have to go in person to have this out and hopefully they do the right thing and finally get a resolution to this. I feel very angry and let down by this service.

    We were looking for a used car and turned to SLM Toyota Hastings for a hassle free purchase as they are a Toyota dealership. I was sent a personalised video by Adam who mentioned some wear and tear for the vehicle's age but didn't point it out in the video. I was told vehicle had full service history. When I turned up, I realised the bumper had so much wear to the point paint was missing. Inside had mould growing and car wasn't cleaned as promised. I was told vehicle was serviced but when I looked at air filter it had loads of leaves and debris stuck. Oil level was way over filled and not clean which suggests it wasn't serviced. Vehicle was missing service book and had no service record in between 18k and current 61k. Only proof for first 3 and last service was printouts from their system. I expressed my dissatisfaction to Tom who was there on the day and asked if I could start the car so at least I can see what state engine is in, just in case we were able to negotiate something later with his manager but Tom said there's no point. Nobody called to apologise either on Monday. I called in on Tue to speak to their branch manager Lee. He promised to get the bumper fixed, car polished and then get back to me. He called me after bumper repair and said car was going in for polishing. However 2 days later he left me voicemail to say the car had engine management light on and they won't be selling it as retail. Whether it was a coincidence I may never know. All in all I was extremely disappointed as I had travelled 180 miles round trip to see this car. Therefore based on my experience I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Edit to SLM Toyota reply: Nothing has been resolved. My day still got wasted and the costs of fuel burned to get to you. All could have been avoided if your staff told me the truth in first place.

    I part exchanged my old car to purchase a 2016 Golf SV about 7 months ago from SLM Hastings and opted for their standard 6-month warranty. Initial impressions were good as I paid a nominal amount to reserve the car online and a salesperson promptly got in touch with a video. I also filled in an online form to get a Part Ex value for my old car. (I think there were 3 grades you could select and I picked the lowest, which if anything my car wasn't as bad as the lowest description e.g. it would pass an MOT but admittedly was still old and a bit battered). Anyway, I arranged a Saturday to drive down and see the car (I traveled about 180 miles). I liked the car but on the test drive a glow plug light came on but as it was a Saturday there were no mechanics on site to see to it. I had a few options at this point e.g. come back next week once they look at it, walk away etc, but as I live so far away I was assured they'd pay for it as it would be under warranty and they gave me this assurance in writing (via emailperhaps I was being naive at this point. When proceeding to Part Ex my old car, they didn't honour the price their online system gave me as they said they couldn't sell it on and it would have to go to auction at a loss otherwise. I didn't see this as being my problem and think they should update their system especially when people grade their cars low where the grading criteria is barely drivable and my old car drove fine. I also couldn't get them down on the price of the Golf as they knew they'd have to reimburse the cost of repair but they did put in a full tank. Just before I drove away I noticed the fuel cap was slightly ajar and the fuel door locking actuator was broken (it wouldn't close properly or lock). This really did annoy me as they 100% would have known this as they just filled it up and we're prepared to let me drive off with it had I not raised it. So back in the office I went with the sales person who gave it to me in writing that they'd pay for that too. I drove home fine and took the car to a local garage who strongly advised me to return the car rather than repair but persuaded them to fix the issues. They found a few more minor issues too which I didn't spot such as the door check straps (this would have been an easy fix for SLMs mechanics, so why SLM didn't fix it I don't know). Luckily it was just a faulty sensor as I suspected with the glow plug light. After about 1 week, SLM did pay the full cost of repairs directly to the garage. Overall I am very happy with my car and they did rectify the issues but it was a bit of hassle, so I think 4 stars is more than fair.

    Nathan was extremely helpful in our 2 visits. Both times he gave us the time to look around the vehicle we wanted to see and also set us up with a test drive. Nathan then went out of his way to make sure we could get everything sorted on the same day, to save us travelling back on a different day. Every single star is purely for Nathan
