SLM Toyota secure funding for Nelson’s Journey charity as part of Toyota Fund For A Better Tomorrow initiative

SLM Toyota are pleased to announce that following an application to the Toyota Fund For A Better Tomorrow initiative, Nelson’s Journey have been awarded a generous grant to aid with their work.

  • It brings us great joy to announce that following a submission by SLM Toyota to the Toyota Fund For A Better Tomorrow, charity Nelsons’s Journey have successfully been awarded a grant for £2,000 to assist with their work.

SLM Toyota have been fundraising for wonderful charity Nelson’s Journey for over four years now, and have raised in excess of £9,000. All three of the SLM Toyota East Anglia Centres (Norwich, Lowestoft and Attleborough) fundraise for Nelson’s Journey, which is a charity that supports young people and their families who have lost someone close to them. Their support is offered through a number of channels, activities and initiatives, all of which are only possible because of external funding efforts.

The generous Toyota ‘Fund For A Better Tomorrow’ was set up by Toyota as a funding initiative that supports local charities, schools and community projects all across the UK. Since it first begun it’s work, the fund has supported over 480 projects and provided over £800,000. The initiative was designed to support and connect with the local communities in which Toyota are embedded.

Over-the-moon with the successful grant application, we can see below a smiling Damian Pavy, SLM Toyota Norwich Sales Manager and Natasha Blyth, SLM Marketing Co-Ordinator handing over the cheque for £2,000 to Rebecca Busshell, Nelson’s Journey Funding & Marketing Officer.

  • Showing appreciation for the successful application, Rebecca said: “We’re delighted that Toyota have awarded us a grant via their Fund for a Better Tomorrow programme. The funding will go towards delivering bereavement support services to children and young people throughout Norfolk. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, we’ve seen an increase in complex referrals and our services have been needed more than ever. We are grateful that Toyota recognise the importance of the work we are doing and we’d like to thank them for choosing to support the work we do. We’d also like to thank The SLM Motor Group for assisting us with the application”.
