SLM Toyota proudly presents Toyota Fund For A Better Tomorrow cheque to The Sara Lee Trust, after successful application through a brand new online platform

The Sara Lee Trust, a charity very close to our hearts at SLM Toyota, have successfully been awarded funds from the Toyota Fund For A Better Tomorrow initiative, after being the first charity to pilot Toyota’s paperless online application system.

  • SLM Toyota have long been a proud fund raiser for The Sara Lee Trust, and to date have cumulatively raised over £26,500. Recently, we were proud to present another cheque, for £1,800, which was successfully awarded following an application to Toyota’s Fund For A Better Tomorrow initiative. See below, our team presenting the cheque to representatives from The Sara Lee Trust:

  • The Sara Lee Trust is a Sussex based charity that provides specialist counselling and support to local people and their families who are suffering with cancer. It is also the dedicated provider of specialist counselling and complimentary therapy services to St Michael’s Hospice in St Leonards on Sea, and the Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital. For over 20 years, the trust has been proud to support it’s local community, and is extremely grateful for the efforts of local businesses such as SLM Toyota.

The trust will be using this money towards the building of a new annexe at the trust’s Therapy Centre in Sidley. Commenting on the recent donation, a representative from the trust said: “This donation will help to make a huge difference in the lives of many local people, and we are extremely grateful to both the Toyota Fund and SLM for making this possible.”

This successful application for Toyota’s Fund For A Better Tomorrow initiative also marks a milestone for Toyota, SLM Toyota, and The Sara Lee Trust, with this being the first submission through Toyota’s new ‘paperless’ application process for the fund. Moving forward, all applications to the Toyota charitable funds will be administered the use of online forms and electronic signatures – this removes the need to print paper, helping to save the environment and also streamline the process. The Sara Lee Trust, the first to use the new system, said that the process was really easy and went through very quickly.
