Toyota Unveils The All-New All-Electric Toyota Urban Cruiser

Toyota has officially introduced their latest addition to their expanding electric vehicle line up: The All-New, All-Electric Urban Cruiser.

  • This compact SUV will reinforce Toyota’s wider multi-path strategy; a vision intended to help develop low-emission and zero-emission mobility solutions for the regional needs of customers. Toyota plans to offer 15 zero emission vehicles in its lineup by 2026, including six battery electric vehicles.

Toyota’s increasing range of battery electric vehicles, alongside its extensive selection of plug in hybrids, full hybrids and fuel cell electric vehicles, will gradually reduce emissions across the region. This aligns with the Toyota Motor Europe’s target of achieving a 100% CO2 reduction by 2035 and full carbon neutrality by 2040.

Here's what we know so far...

  • Design and Dimensions

The Urban Cruiser exhibits a powerful yet compact SUV design, demonstrated by its classic Toyota “hammerhead” front end design and its impressive rear light arrangement. The Urban Cruiser is slightly larger than Toyota’s Yaris Cross, measuring 4,285 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.

The All-New Toyota Urban Cruiser is impressively maneuverable, with a turning radius of just 5.2m.

It features 18 or 19inch diameter alloys, fitted with full wheel covers to support the car’s aerodynamic design.

What’s more, the All-New Urban Cruiser will be available in a wide range of exterior colours, including bi-tone options with a contrasting black roof.

  • Interior and Technology

The All-New Urban Cruiser features a spacious and flexible interior- enhanced by a sliding rear seat system.

The high-seat design enables optimal views for both the driver and the passengers. These seats fold in a 40:20:40 configuration and can also be reclined- making the interior easily adaptable for maximum comfort.

The interior of the Urban Cruiser features dark grey and black colouring, as well as ambient lighting; creating a luxurious feel inside.

Technological amenities include: a dual-screen setup with an integrated 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10.1-inch multimedia system, ensuring seamless connectivity and user experience. Smartphone integration is also provided.

Additionally, all models are equipped with an energy-saving heat pump for the air conditioning system and manually operated battery pre-heating to optimize performance in colder conditions.

The All-new Urban Cruiser will also include a range of driver assistance systems, such as a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane keep assist and a 360-degree camera system for outstanding visibility.

  • Performance and Battery Options

The Urban Cruiser offers two lithium-iron phosphate battery options, with the choice of front or all-wheel drive:

       •             49 kWh Battery: Available exclusively with front-wheel drive (FWD), delivering an output of 106 kW / 144 DIN hp.

       •             61 kWh Battery: Offers two configurations—FWD with 128 kW/ 174 DIN and all-wheel drive (AWD) with 135 kW/ 184 DIN hp.

A standout feature of the All-New Urban Cruiser is its all-wheel drive system, solidifying its reputation as a true SUV.

The MyToyota app works with Toyota’s HomeCharge charging point to deliver a seamless and convenient home charging experience, as well as allowing you to check your vehicle's charge level, driving range and charging status all through your smartphone.

  • This model signifies Toyota’s commitment to providing versatile and eco-friendly mobility solutions, catering to the evolving demands of urban living. More information to follow at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show, so register your interest on the Toyota website to stay up to date.
