The Toyota Fund For A Better Tomorrow & The James Paget Hospital Charity

SLM Toyota Lowestoft are pleased to be able to support the James Paget Hospital Charity with a grant of £1,600 through The Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow. The grant will help fund much needed sensory play equipment in the children's waiting area of the Accident & Emergency department.

• Here at SLM Toyota Lowestoft, we are extremely proud to be able to present the James Paget Hospital Charity with the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow Grant.

• The hospital has been funded with a £1,600 grant which will enable them to provide sensory play equipment for the children's waiting area in their Accident & Emergency department. Whether children are waiting to be seen by the department, or waiting for their siblings, this grant ensures they have something to entertain them and keep their mind off the reason for their visit.

• The proposed works to the Accident and Emergency department at the James Paget University Hospital has already commenced and there is lots of activity at the front of the hospital as a result. Access to the A&E department has also been altered during the phased works and is at this point via main reception.

• The grant will allow the children's play environment to be accessible to any visitors at the James Paget hospital Accident & Emergency department with children waiting for a sibling or a parent to be treated, as well as during waiting for their own appointment. The sensory equipment will provide a safe, homely enjoyable area for visitors to use, making the visit more tolerable, as it can be quite daunting for little ones when visiting an emergency department, often making them feel very scared and anxious. So, this would be an excellent facility for both the hospital and the local Community as they see hundreds of members of the public each week through the doors of their Accident & Emergency.

  What's more, the works provide the children their own area, so they are not waiting in the main seating area witnessing all types of injuries.
