SLM Toyota Sponsors Smudger's Charity Golf Day

SLM Toyota Hastings proudly sponsored a hole at the Smudger's Charity Golf Day

• Here at SLM Toyota Hastings we recently donated £100 to the Smudger's Charity Golf Day, where we sponsored a hole.
  
  The event took place on Friday 26th July during which we displayed our all new Corolla. Starting at 1.30pm, the day began just as the bad weather disappeared. 76 golfers were present and just as in the previous 11 years, they were all incredibly generous with their donations throughout the day.
  
  As well as the golf, there was a charity auction hosted by local comedian Adger Brown. This generated nearly £1,500 and Adger was on 'top form' with the mic! It was a fantastic day and everyone really enjoyed themselves and we managed to raise even more money for some great charities.
  
  So far this year, Smudgers have raised over £4,500 which will be split between Kent Air Ambulance and Dragon Files Children's Bereavement Charity. Next year, they are hoping to be able to raise enough money to take their entire total raised to over £100,000.

• "The picture opposite with the Air Ambulance was taken on Sunday 28th July. I was on my way to the town when I saw two Air Ambulance doctors walking down Elphinstone Road near Hastings Utd football ground. They had been called out to a young child who had been hurt in his garden. We went to the Bos playing field near by where the helicopter had landed and got talking to the pilot who lived in Bexhill!

  It was great to meet the doctors and the pilots. They were delighted that we had managed to raise so much for them in just one day and said without donations like ours they would not exist as they get no funding or support from the government.

  This was ‘the icing on the cake’ for us and to meet the KAA team just two days after our golf day was a little surreal."
