  • Judging panel praised the Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric for its comfort, space, drive and value

  • Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric available in Comfort Range or Long Range specification, starting from £37,495 OTR
  • Renault has achieved significant recognition at the What Car? Electric Car Awards 2024, securing two prestigious titles. The Renault Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric was honored as the ‘Best Electric Family SUV,’ while the eagerly anticipated Renault 4 clinched the ‘Readers’ Choice’ award.

In the announcement of the Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric as the ‘Best Electric Family SUV,’ Steve Huntingford, Editor of What Car?, remarked, "Just like the MPV that once wore the same badge, the new Scenic makes a fantastic family car, thanks to its spacious and thoughtfully designed interior. It's also a comfortable and quiet choice that's reassuring to drive. And when you consider the long range and generous roster of standard equipment, it's incredibly well priced."

This award further solidifies the Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric’s impact on the electric car market since its introduction late last year. The model has already garnered significant attention, including being named ‘Car of the Year 2024’ at the Geneva Motor Show.

Designed with families in mind, this pure electric SUV offers ample space, comfort, and advanced connectivity. It features a compact motor (available in 125kW/170hp or 160kW/220hp) and comes with a 60kW or 87kWh battery pack, delivering a range of up to 379 miles. The 87kWh Long Range version is available in techno, esprit Alpine, and iconic trims, while the 60kWh Comfort Range model is exclusively available in techno trim, with prices starting at £37,495 OTR.

Building on the success of the Renault 5, which won the ‘Readers’ Choice’ award in 2023, the Renault 4 continues to captivate the public's interest. Selected from a shortlist of electric vehicles by What Car?, readers voted the Renault 4 as the car they are most excited to see in showrooms.

Like its predecessor, the Renault 4 will be fully electric and designed with an exterior inspired by the original model. Initially teased as the Renault 4EVER Trophy concept in 2022, the car’s styling reflects the original’s versatility. The full production version is expected to be unveiled later this year.

Steve Huntingford added: "Renault clearly knows a thing or two about building electric cars that capture the imagination. At both last year's Electric Car Awards and our overall Car of the Year Awards in January, What Car? readers voted the Renault 5 as the most exciting upcoming model. And now the Renault 4 has seen off a host of new electric cars to top the public poll."

Guillaume Sicard, Managing Director Renault UK, stated: “Renault has set out to be a leader in electric mobility, and these awards underline the success we are enjoying today and the excitement we are generating for the future. What Car?’s testers are among the most rigorous in the industry, and these awards once again demonstrate Renault Scenic's class-leading position and all-round abilities, as well as reaffirming everyone's excitement for the upcoming launches of the Renault 4 and 5. The momentum building around our EVs is second-to-none.”
