ADAM travel fasts
  • With spring arriving, Autocar’s Mark Tisshaw has been settling in with his long-term Vauxhall ADAM, and he’s not the only one either, after he saw plenty of them during a Sunday drive. “Each ADAM was wearing a shiny new 14-plate and they all looked cheery in their vivid and unique colour schemes. Of course, the black and white ADAM I designed is still the best-looking one out there,” reckons Tisshaw. “Inspired by the ADAM’s imminent refresh, I’ve also decided to give mine a few cosmetic enhancements of its own. “I recently mentioned I’d been thumbing the ADAM’s accessories catalogue to see what I could do to my car, and I’ve now settled on a few minor tweaks; I’m just waiting for the box of bits to arrive. “Mud flaps and a luggage net for the boot are the practical additions. On the cosmetic front, I’ve gone for a VXR rear spoiler, although I’ve stopped short of the full boy-racer VXR body kit. The interior changes begin and end with a white cover for the rear-view mirror housing to match the white dashboard I’ve already got. “The one toy I’ve gone for is rear parking sensors. I’m intrigued to know whether there is ever a situation when a city car would need such an aid, and indeed whether such a system can be integrated successfully after the car leaves the factory.” (Source: Autocar, 2 April)
