SLM Nissan Backs Rio 2016 Hopeful

SLM Nissan are sponsoring Olympic hopeful and British Athlete Ciara Horne

• Here at SLM Nissan we are extremely proud to announce that we are sponsoring Olympic hopeful and British Athlete Ciara Horne this year.
  
  Ciara first started her sporting career in swimming at the age of seven and began focusing on cycling in 2009. Since then, she has won both in the UK and internationally on road and track. In 2014, Ciara was accepted onto the Olympic Podium Programme and became European champion in the team pursuit, retaining this title in 2015. She has also enjoyed wins at the World Cup series in Mexico and London, as well as bronze in the 2015/16 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Colombia and 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.

  Ciara now has her sights set on the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio this summer. As her sponsor, we have provided her with a Nissan Note to help with her intense training schedule. The practical model provides plentiful cabin and boot space – essential for carrying a haul of cycling equipment. With no need to worry about planning transport, she can now concentrate on her training and pre-Games preparations.
  
  About the sponsorship, Ciara said “This is fantastic news for me. Having the car will allow me to focus everything on my training programme and it’s another big weight off my shoulders.
  
  With Rio fast approaching one of the main things now is to avoid injuries and minimise risks, so having a comfortable, modern car is really going to help that. I’m incredibly grateful to SLM Nissan for its support and hopefully I’ll do it proud in the coming year.”
