SLM Toyota Uckfield Baked Bean Competition

  • SLM Toyota Uckfield recently ran a competition from 19th May to 23rd May giving people the opportunity to win a £100 Tesco Voucher by correctly guessing how many tins of baked beans were placed in their AYGO. The competition was kindly supported by Tesco Uckfield, which is where the baked bean filled car was parked, along with the latest Yaris and Yaris Hybrid models for customers to view. Staff at SLM had a great time meeting lots of customers and answering their questions throughout the week. Mel Ball, Marketing Manager at SLM Toyota Uckfield wanted to give something back to the community and decided that it would be a great idea to donate the baked beans to the local foodbank in Uckfield once the competition had ended. Uckfield foodbank first opened in September 2013 and is a charity that aims to provide three days of nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food for people experiencing crisis. In the first eight months of opening, 187 adults and 153 children received support from them. Sharon Burt, Uckfield foodbank Administrator said: “We were surprised to receive the call from SLM Toyota Uckfield offering us the 633 tins of baked beans from the Toyota AYGO. We are grateful to them for thinking of us and we will be working with Brighton and Hove FareShare to ensure the beans go to those living in East Sussex who are in need.” Two of Uckfield’s Mafeking Cubs, Lewis Heffer and Henri Bedwell, were on hand to help SLM Toyota staff unload the beans at the foodbank and all hope that the delivery goes down well. The winner of the Baked Bean Competition will be announced shortly.
