SLM Body Repair Centre bring seasoned customer service professional onto team as new Front Desk Coordinator

We’d like to wish a warm welcome to SLM Body Repair Centre’s newest member of the team, Mike Cornford, who joins us as our new Front Desk Coordinator. Mike brings a wealth of customer service experience with him, making him the ideal candidate to handle our customer queries on the front lines.

  • We know that dealing with a repair to your car’s bodywork can be a stressful and anxious time – we all take pride in our cars, and to see them scuffed or scratched can often make us distresses. That’s why we position compassionate, understanding, and helpful staff on the front line of SLM Body Repair Centre, ready to make your experience with us a pleasant one. Today, we are pleased to announce that we’ve recently appointed a member of staff that ticks all of these boxes – meet Mike Cornford, SLM Body Repair Centre’s new Front Desk Coordinator.  

    Mike’s new role will see him effectively be the first line of support, and initial point of contact with our customers. As well as administering the jobs that come into the centre, Mike will deal with insurance quotes and requests, and offer a helpful yet realistic service to our customers, ensuring that their expectations are managed. 

    Although this is Mike’s debut role in the motoring industry, he brings with him a wealth of customer service and administrative experience, all transferrable skills that make him ideal for the role. Mike has devoted a significant portion of his career to the Civil Services, where he originally began his career in the post room, before finding his own in an auditing role as part of the job seekers programme. His final position before joining the SLM family was with the Child Support Agency. All of these roles are hands-on, front-line positions dealing with people, often in varying states of emotion. It was really no surprise that when we asked Mike what he felt that he was particularly good at, he responded by saying “I am a people person. A skill that I've developed and that I am proud of, is helping people!”.
