Wealden Bowls Captain Day
  • On Sunday 24th February Wealden Bowls Club held an exciting charity Captains Day. 96 members played throughout and it was a great success, raising £1,200 for The Chestnut Tree House Charity. SLM are proud sponsors of the bowls club and brought along two of their latest Toyota models for attendees to view. Bryan Jones from SLM Toyota Uckfield spent all day at the club showing the cars to members and joining in with the events. SLM donated ‘win the use of a Toyota for the weekend’ as a prize that they auctioned, adding to the great amount of money raised. All members who attended the event had a really enjoyable day playing bowls for a great cause. There was even a fancy dress code, which certainly added a little extra fun to the day! The Chestnut Tree House is the only children’s hospice in Sussex, caring for 280 children and young adults with progressive life-limiting conditions. Eddie Lovegrove, the chairman of the charity is ‘delighted with the generosity of the members’.
