The SLM Group Quarterly Catch-up: Q2 2025

Here’s a look back at everything we made happen together this quarter.

  •

This quarter was full of progress, connection, and impact. Every accomplishment shows just how much effort and teamwork go on behind the scenes. Whether it’s the way we’ve shown up for our customers, engaged new audiences, or supported causes that matter, Q2 has been a true reflection of the passion and purpose that drives everyone at SLM Group.

Giving Back, One Car at a Time

At SLM Group, for every new or used car we sell, we donate £1 to our chosen charities. We were incredibly proud to kick off the quarter with our Q1 cheque presentations to two charities close to our hearts:

    • The Sara Lee Trust received a donation of £594, bringing the total contribution to an incredible £47,038.
    • Nelson’s Journey was presented with £663, taking our overall support since 2018 to £17,097.

Both charities expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone at SLM Group who helped to make these donations possible. It’s a brilliant reminder that each sale plays a part in making a real difference.

Backing Future Talent on the Track

This quarter, we were proud to officially renew our sponsorship of Finley Dunleavy for the 2025 race season. Finley was crowned National Champion of the 2023 F.A.T. Karting League and continues to inspire as a young racer with ASD. His passion, talent, and determination embody everything we believe in at SLM Group, and we’re so excited to be part of his journey this year.

  • April

    Cricket Get Set Weekend

The nationwide Toyota x ECB Get Set Weekend on 5–6th April saw fantastic support from our East Anglia centres. Staff volunteered to help prepare pitches and clubhouses for the season ahead, and Toyota Norwich even donated a Proace van to their partnered club for the weekend.

This brilliant grassroots initiative reinforced our commitment to local sport and brought our teams into the heart of their communities.

    Firle Garden Show Bloomed

From 18–20th April, Toyota Hastings and Uckfield took part in the Firle Garden Show. We were thrilled to be involved in this huge, three-day event featuring live music, local businesses, fun activities, and special guest speakers. Our eye-catching stand, featuring the Toyota C-HR, Yaris, and Yaris Cross, sparked great interest and led to many positive conversations with new faces.

    Easter Joy at Applewood Hall

On 20th April, the team at Toyota Attleborough joined in the fun at the Easter Spring Fling at Applewood Hall. The sun was shining, over 400 people turned out, and every child received a chocolate egg sponsored by SLM Group (a big hit with the little ones!).

Families took part in a bunny-naming competition (congratulations to HopHop), while our eye-catching vehicle display drew plenty of attention. All in all, it was a lovely day out and a great way to connect with local families.

    Showroom Fun at GWM

Over at GWM SLM, the Big Easter Egg Hunt ran from 16-27th April. Our showroom was decorated with chocolate prizes for little treasure hunters, and there was a £1,000 prize draw for the grown-ups. It was fantastic to see families enjoying the experience and engaging with our team during the holidays.

  • May

    Toyotathon at Claremont Pier

On 17th May, Toyota Lowestoft launched a product placement event at Claremont Pier, tying into our Toyotathon campaign. Visitors were greeted by two striking vehicle displays and branded giveaways, all set against the iconic pier backdrop.

We also proudly sponsored the restoration of the pier’s wooden walk board - a gesture that means a lot to this beloved local landmark.

    R5 introduced at Princes Mead

Renault SMC celebrated the launch of the iconic new R5 by displaying it at Princes Mead Shopping Centre on 17th May. Amid a lively weekend in the town centre, the display attracted great footfall and gave shoppers a chance to explore the bold design of this reimagined classic up close. It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce the R5 to new audiences in a vibrant local setting.

    BTCC Race Day at Snetterton

We were thrilled to attend the BTCC Race Day at Snetterton on 25th May, hosted by Toyota GAZOO Racing. We were even able to invite some of our lucky customers along, with tickets won through social media competitions. It was a thrilling day full of speed, sunshine, and Toyota pride.

Thank you to our Norwich, Attleborough and Lowestoft teams for making it such a memorable experience!

  • June

    All Women Fundraising Concert

On 1st June, Toyota Norwich proudly supported the All Women Fundraising Concert at the Norfolk Showground, a major event recommended by Toyota GB. Our stand featured a full vehicle line-up and attracted a fantastic crowd throughout the day.

Most importantly, the event raised £5,570 in aid of Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society. This is a huge achievement we were honoured to be part of.

    Sunset Social at Applewood Hall

Our Sunset Social on 12th June was a smash hit. Co-hosted with Naked Marketing, this business experiential networking event welcomed over 190 guests!

Toyota Norwich Business Centre showcased three fantastic models and sponsored prizes, and James delivered a brilliant speech representing SLM Group. Feedback was glowing, social engagement was buzzing, and the event set the tone for a fantastic season ahead. It was a powerful example of business and community working hand in hand.

Charity Golf Day at Cooden Beach Golf Club

On 12th June, Vauxhall and Toyota Hastings came together to support The Sara Lee Trust Golf Day in Bexhill. The event brought 21 teams together for a full day of golf, sunshine, and friendly competition, alongside a full vehicle display and promotional materials. Highlights included an auction, prize giving, and an exciting Beat the Pro competition on Hole 14, where only eight players managed to beat Shaun Creasey, Cooden’s Head Pro!

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the event raised over £10,000 to support local people affected by cancer - a fantastic achievement we’re so proud to be involved with.

    Summer Shows & Sport

Toyota Attleborough got into the summer spirit by sponsoring the Morley Festival (20th–21st June), with our branding featured at the entrance and across their digital channels.

Meanwhile, over at Toyota Uckfield, the team continued to build strong local connections with a regular vehicle presence at Buxted Park Cricket Club, as part of the national Toyota x ECB programme.

We wrapped up the quarter with Toyota Hastings supporting Guestling School’s Summer Fete on 28th June. We showcased the Toyota C-HR and donated a “Win a Toyota for a Day” raffle prize (which a lucky teacher won!). It was a memorable day full of smiles and family fun. Another great turnout, great conversations, and a great way to finish the month.

  • Looking Back - and Ahead

From Easter egg hunts to race days, fundraising concerts to sunset socials, this quarter has been packed with purpose, passion and collaboration. We’ve raised hundreds for charity, met so many new faces, and reminded our communities, and ourselves, what it means to be part of SLM Group.

A huge thank you to every member of our team who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to make these events such a success. We couldn’t do it without you.

Here’s to more moments like these and whatever Q3 has in store!
