The Convertible That Won't Break the Bank
  • The Cascada sees Vauxhall “trying something new” says Business Car Manager’s Peter Nunn, who gets behind the wheel of the “big and glamorous” four-seat convertible. “This is a sleek, full-size, front-drive convertible with a body that stretches longer than an Audi A5 Convertible. Starting at just £23,995, however, the Cascada is priced more towards smaller open toppers.” Nunn’s test Cascada Elite boasts a “business-friendly” 2.0-litre CDTi diesel engine, which “provides an effective blend of power, torque, refinement and economy” but the design really catches his attention: “It’s a genuinely beautiful machine that looks like nothing else on the road.” Whether on the motorway, in town or through curving tarmac, the Cascada feels “impressively taut, top up or down”, and passengers are kept “extremely comfortable” inside the “high-quality interior”. Nunn reckons the Cascada is a “strikingly good looking car that sets out to fill an interesting new niche and has been thoughtfully engineered to a high standard. “All credit to Vauxhall for having the courage to try something new and different with the Cascada. If you want to stand out in the corporate car park, this is the car to let you do it.” (Link: Business Car Manager, 26 August)
