SLM TOYOTA TAKE PART IN THE BRIGHTON SPORTIVE CYCLE EVENT
  • Richard Blott, Lee Dennis and Paul Searle from SLM Toyota in Uckfield took part in the Brighton Sportive Event on Sunday the 5th August 2012. The ride was 28.11 miles long and took 2 hours & 8 minutes of riding, although with stops included was around 2 and a half hours. The route map started at Plumpton College, north towards Wivelsfield Green before turning south again towards the Downs. When they reached the Downs, the road ran along the bottom for about a mile, and turned into the foot of Ditchling Beacon. Lee quoted “Richard made it up and I am gutted to say, I failed!!!” This was about 12 miles into the ride. After that, they carried on, touching the outskirts of Brighton and along into Lewes, before finally heading north again and back to Plumpton. This was the first organised ride that they had taken part in, which was organised by Evans Cycles. Around 100 people took part with rides of 15, 30, 60 and 90 miles. The event which they entered was the 30 mile ride. Well done to all of them and good luck for the next event.
