SLM Toyota Hastings Support Battle Health Pathway

Here at SLM Toyota Hastings we are extremely pleased to be able to present Battle Health Pathway with a cheque for £1,800 to help with their Cycle Skills Area project.

• After being approached by Sue Burton, from the Battle Health Pathway Project Group, SLM Toyota Hastings applied for the grant from the Toyota GB Fund For A Better Tomorrow scheme, which gives dealerships the opportunity to support worthy local charities. 

  Sue Burton had this to say: "I am the Project Manager of a scheme called Battle Health Pathway which is a community-led project to provide opportunities for improving health through outdoor exercise. The location of the project is Battle Recreation Ground, Battle, East Sussex. The land is owned by Battle Town Council, who are fully supportive of the Project. Part of the scheme is to create a cycle skills area /pump track where young people can learn bike and scooter handling skills. These skills in later life will assist an individual to travel in an environmentally friendly way at the same time as maintaining fitness and health. The cycle skills area will be on the recreation ground, in a safe, traffic and pedestrian-free environment."

  The Toyota GB Fund awarded Battle Health Pathway with £1,800 and we carried out a photoshoot to present the cheque to Sue Burton and a group of children who are taking part in the project. 

  About the donation, Mark Raczkowski, Sales Manager at SLM Toyota Hastings, commented: "This complements our community grant objectives for environmental and public access projects and we will be interested to watch it progress."

  Here at SLM Toyota Hastings, we are all very pleased to be able to give back to such a brilliant local project and we are looking forward to seeing how the cycle skills area evolves in the future.
