Frustrating month for Ben Nash
  • Last month Ben embarked on one of his most important date of the year, the open championship qualifying which would enable him to play alongside the greats of the game, unfortunately it didn't go too well, three bad breaks in four holes left Ben in a difficult position. Knowing that level par would potentially get into final qualifying, Ben pushed a little harder to try and push for the birdies. But it didn't work. Ben later commented "good shots cost me in the first few holes and I was left in a difficult position and I felt like I had to go for the flags, when you go for flags it only goes two ways and it didn't go my way" Last week Ben played in a Tp tour event at royal ashdown golf club, he started with a flurry birdieing the 1st and the 5th. -2 under par he was going along strongly, a three put bogey followed by a double bogey at the tough par three 11th cost Ben dearly, but he fort on birdieing the next. A few holes later dropped another shot buy another 3 putt. But again birdied back at 15, par at 16. Then the 17 Ben hit a ball just right of the fairway and the ball was never to be seen again. Another birdie was made at the last but a little to late and missed pay day by one shot. "a difficult day, thought I had it going on the front nine holes, but really struggled with the putter, very frustrated but I can build on the in weeks to come"
