CUPRA WINS TOP RED DOT AWARD

CUPRA continues to make waves with vehicles that boast innovative design and performance. This year, their journey advanced with a double victory at the prestigious and globally recognized Red Dot Design Awards.

The CUPRA DarkRebel Showcar earned the Red Dot: Best of the Best – the highest accolade in the competition – for its revolutionary design. Additionally, the CUPRA Tavascan was also honored with a Red Dot award, recognized by the international jury for its exceptional design.“

The CUPRA DarkRebel Showcar was destined for acclaim, defying conventional design norms, a factor appreciated by the judges for the prestigious Red Dot: Best of the Best award.

The award-winning DarkRebel design was crafted using over 270,000 inputs from the CUPRA Tribe via the online Hyper Configurator. The result is a fully electric two-seat sports car with a shooting brake architecture, featuring a high-sculpted body and distinctive elements like the central keel and digital headlamps. These design aspects aim to evoke desire and emotion, challenging traditional norms.

Inside, the CUPRA DarkRebel Showcar presents a unique cockpit combining muscle and skeleton, body and structure. Utilizing parametric design and additive manufacturing, it offers a sustainable approach. The interior creates a radical, immersive environment with dynamic forms and raw, light structures.

Enhancing the visual experience are the precision-crafted driving components, which incorporate cutting-edge technology and complete the distinctive interior.

CUPRA’s success at the Red Dot Design Awards extended beyond the DarkRebel Showcar, with the CUPRA Tavascan also receiving a Red Dot award for its outstanding design.

The CUPRA Tavascan is the brand’s first all-electric SUV coupe, developed in Barcelona. It marks the start of CUPRA’s bold new design language, set to influence future electrified vehicles in their lineup.The design of the all-electric SUV coupe is bold and disruptive. Developed to be emotional and expressive, the Tavascan’s design team created a language intended to captivate the next generation of car enthusiasts.

Its exterior boasts athletic and sporty proportions, with the front featuring instantly recognizable matrix LED headlights with a three-triangle eye signature. The interior is architecturally impressive, characterized by its central spine and slim air vents, which helped to secure the Red Dot award.

The judges praised CUPRA’s outstanding work. Professor Dr. Peter Zec, Founder and CEO of Red Dot, stated: “Among the numerous submissions from companies and design studios from all over the world, the outstanding quality and design of CUPRA’s products convinced our international jury.
