CUPRA unveils the new CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon
  • Today, the innovative challenger brand introduces the updated CUPRA Formentor and CUPRA Leon models, designed and improved to continue their successful journey. The new CUPRA Formentor builds upon its previous achievements in the crossover SUV category, being the company's top seller and a symbol of the brand. In a competitive market, it led sales with 120,100 deliveries globally last year, marking a 23.0% increase from 2022, showcasing strong results for the brand's inaugural uniquely designed vehicle.

    The latest CUPRA Leon embodies a robust character in both its 5-door hatchback and Sportstourer versions, coinciding with a significant milestone for the brand. In the first quarter of 2024, CUPRA recorded a 21.4% increase in deliveries compared to the same period in 2023, with March setting a new record month with 23,800 deliveries.

    Wayne Griffiths, CEO of CUPRA, highlighted the pivotal role of the CUPRA Formentor and Leon in the brand's global expansion, with nearly 600,000 cars delivered since the brand's inception in 2018. He emphasized the design-driven ethos behind the new models, describing them as embodiment's of the brand's vision conceived by its early enthusiasts.

    The redesigned exteriors of the CUPRA Formentor and Leon feature the iconic CUPRA logo prominently displayed, complemented by bold LED lighting and distinctive color options like Century Bronze and Enceladus Grey. Inside, the fusion of sportiness and sustainability is evident, with premium materials and advanced digital technologies enhancing the driving experience. Notably, the interior incorporates environmentally conscious elements, such as seats crafted from recycled microfiber or eco-friendly leather. Digital innovation takes center stage with upgraded Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems and a premium 12-speaker audio system developed in collaboration with Sennheiser Mobility.

    The powertrain options include petrol, mild hybrid, diesel, and plug-in hybrid variants, with the latter offering significant all-electric range and fast-charging capabilities. The launch event showcased CUPRA's commitment to design excellence, introducing CUPRA Design as a standalone entity responsible for not only the brand's merchandise but also collaborations with like-minded partners. Collaborations with brands such as MAM and Marset underscored CUPRA's dedication to unconventional design and raw authenticity.

    The highlight of the event was the "CUPRA Catwalk," a visual spectacle in Madrid's Plaza de Cibeles, where virtual models represented the brand's core values through innovative presentations. This unique showcase aimed to celebrate the distinctive elements that define CUPRA's design philosophy, highlighting its rebellious spirit, tribal ethos, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
