Sussex Used Cars refreshes team with four new appointments

This summer, we’ve welcomed four new members to our team at Sussex Used Cars, each a specialist in their own area.

  • Marcus Goodchild – Sales Manager

Firstly, we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Goodchild, Sussex Used Cars’ new Sales Manager. Marcus brings 14 years of motoring experience with him, after starting his career with Ford as a Sales Executive before quickly moving into management roles.

When asked what attracted him to join Sussex Used Cars, he said: “I knew the reputation of SLM for their first-class customer service and excellent way that they look after their staff, so when the position became available I jumped at the chance to join!”

An exciting time ahead, with new challenges, and a newly refreshed team, Marcus offered his thoughts on the road ahead: “It is exciting times at Sussex Used Cars, as we have increased the team and number of vehicles we hold on site, so I am looking forward to carrying on the excellent reputation of SLM and Sussex Used Cars as we move forward with our new and improved team... and huge selection of used cars!”

  • Shannon Ballard – Sales Administrator

Meet Shannon Ballard, an experienced motoring sales administration specialist, who joins us with a passion for our industry, and an impressive track record in her field.

Shannon has held a number of positions in motoring sales administration and customer service, notably at Group 1, where she was a call centre team leader handling customer enquiries and calls for the group. She then diversified her knowledge and experience when she joined Birchwood Ford as a service advisor, gaining valuable time understanding and administering aftersales and servicing enquiries for customers at a busy dealership.

When we asked Shannon what she was most looking forward to in 2021 and her future at Sussex Used Cars, she said: “I’m looking forward to getting to know the team, widening my knowledge of the other brands, and of course the new challenge!”

  • Kelsie Goodsell – Vehicle & Service Coordinator

Kelsie Goodsell takes the brand new role of Vehicle & Service Coordinator at Sussex Used Cars, which is the latest expansion at our dealership, offering vehicle servicing, repairs and MOTs. Kelsie brings six years of industry experience to the role, holding a variety of positions in vehicle aftersales and parts, all of which make her a valued member of the team and well placed for this important new role.

Kelsie started her career in the motoring industry as a Parts Advisor, before moving into a Business Development Manager position for a local parts company. The experience gained, not just in product but also in customer service and sales, gives her the perfect combination of knowledge and insight for this exciting job within our team. Kelsie’s new responsibility will see her organising and arranging all aspects of vehicle preparation, and handling the service and aftersales of Sussex Used Cars’ sold vehicles.

We’re always interested to know why people choose to join our teams, as it helps us understand more about how we’re viewed outside of our business. When we asked Kelsie what attracted her to the role, she said: “I wanted to work for SLM and Sussex Used Cars because I knew that it has a good reputation, and the company is known to take care of it’s staff.”

  • David Siddle – Sales Executive

Last but by no means least, meet David Siddle, who has joined the team at Sussex Used Cars as our new Sales Executive. With over 20 years experience selling cars from a range of manufacturers, David is a welcome addition to our sales team.

We were over the moon to bring David on board into our sales team, given his extensive career in the motors industry. David has over 20 years under his belt, originally at Birchwood Ford where he sold new cars for 15 years. Seeking a new challenge, he then spent seven years working for Mercedes. Finally, David took a new role with Honda specialising in both cars and vans, which saw him gain valuable knowledge and insight over a two year period. The diverse knowledge and experience David has gained through his successful career, we believe, makes him the perfect person to help our customers.

David said that he was most drawn to work for Sussex Used Cars due to the flexibility and options for our customers. He said “I was most attracted to work for Sussex Used Cars due to the extensive stock – 130 cars! I believe there’s lots of opportunity for customers.”

  • On behalf of Sussex Used Cars, we wish Marcus, Shannon, Kelsie and David the very best of luck in their new roles.

You can meet Marcus, Shannon, Kelsie and David at Sussex Used Cars today!
