This April, The SLM Bodyshop welcomes two new additions to the team

The SLM Bodyshop is always a bustling and well-oiled machine when it comes to day-to-day activities, with various different specialists and supporting teams all working perfectly in tune with one another to repair and diagnose our customer’s body repair needs.

Given the rewarding, fast paced, and exciting nature of the roles within the Body Repair Centre, it’s not too often that we see staff come and go, but from time to time we need to recruit new members to the team. Due to the rare nature of recruitment, it’s actually quite exciting when we get to welcome new faces – not only is it a new person joining our family, but someone that can impart knowledge and experience to us, and visa versa.

That’s why this April, we’re over-the-moon to announce that we have appointed Dave Hartland as our newest Paint Sprayer, and Jim Belcher as our Collection & Delivery Driver.

Dave applied for his role after keeping an eye out for some time for a role with The SLM Bodyshop Centre, which obviously filled us with joy – he said “I had kept an eye out, because I wanted to work for the SLM Group, so when this opening came up, I just went for it!”. It wasn’t just this very well received advocacy for our family business that did it for us though – Dave brings with him decades of experience in bodywork spraying, having worked for both independent and main dealers, and across a range of makes and models. We know that Dave will bring superb and diverse experience with him, joining colleagues with similar backgrounds, but no doubt new knowledge and skills to share.
Jim Belcher
Jim joins the team in one of our key roles – the Collection & Delivery Driver, which is the link between our customers and our business, and often the first and last contact that our customers have in their repair project. Jim’s responsibilities include the timely collection and delivery of customer vehicles, and parts where necessary, where timekeeping and customer service skills are paramount. Luckily, both of these come as part and parcel with Jim, given his experience as a chauffeur, where these qualities are exercised in every moment of the job. The fact that Jim absolutely loves driving is just a bonus!
