WhatCar? Impressed By New Insignia Sports Tourer

WhatCar? were impressed when they test drove the new Insignia Sports Tourer for the first time

  • WhatCar? was “impressed on our first outing in the new Insignia”, writes Darren Moss.

“We’ve driven a late-stage prototype of the new Grand Sport hatchback, and that car showed the hallmarks of a fine executive choice. Things are looking positive then for the estate version, dubbed the Sports Tourer.”

The longer model extends the boot to a size “larger than the Mondeo Estate’s with its seats down. A few inches have also been added between its front and rear wheels, meaning more space inside for passengers.

“The interior of the Insignia Sports Tourer is identical to that of the hatchback. It has a smart and modern design, with a new touchscreen infotainment system offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, as well as a wi-fi hotspot. Other key features include a sensor under the rear bumper to open and close the tailgate by waving your foot below it, split-folding rear seats and a variety of driving modes.

“Personal contract purchase finance deals should be competitive, too, and both the hatch and estate should continue to be popular with company car drivers.”
