This engine is well-matched to the light, slick-shifting five-speed manual transmission here too.” The ‘Whisper’ diesel “should prove cost-effective to run, too, with a 65.7mpg combined consumption figure and just 114g/km emissions, meaning this Vauxhall falls into tax band B, resulting in just £20 a year in VED”. The Insignia is “as good to drive as ever” with “sharp” steering and a “refined, comfortable ride”.
