The Vauxhall Insignia Tech Line Offers 'Astonishing' Savings

  • The Insignia and its ‘Whisper’ diesel engine are “definitely worth serious consideration”, says BusinessCarManager. “However, although the economy and CO2 are brilliant at 65.7mpg and 114g/km respectively, it’s our previous SME Company Car Winner, the 2.0-litre CDTI 140 Ecoflex that’s still our ultimate favourite. “But for £22,984, this Tech Line undoubtedly offers a lot for the 20 per cent tax payer at just £69 a month – an astonishingly low amount for so much car.” The new 2.0-litre turbo-diesel has “more power” and “is noticeably smoother and refined, right from start up”. With 14 per cent more torque, “this engine feels more sprightly from right down the rev-range” and “meets stricter Euro-6 emissions regulations. This engine is well-matched to the light, slick-shifting five-speed manual transmission here too.” The ‘Whisper’ diesel “should prove cost-effective to run, too, with a 65.7mpg combined consumption figure and just 114g/km emissions, meaning this Vauxhall falls into tax band B, resulting in just £20 a year in VED”. The Insignia is “as good to drive as ever” with “sharp” steering and a “refined, comfortable ride”.
